Enhancing our Environment
A traditional power plant development involves a significant landscape footprint for the power plant and thousands of kilometers of transmission lines to deliver the electricity from where it is produced (generally where the resource is) to where it is consumed (large cities).
Lionstooth is constructing smaller, decentralized power plants that only require 0.1 acre per MW, reducing land impacts by almost 98% compared to conventional developments.
Reduction in Landscape Impacts
Lionstooth has specifically chosen to develop power plants using air-cooled technology. This means we don’t need to use water to generate power, operate our facilities, or cool our engines.
In addition, there is no fuel that can spill and pollute the groundwater, and the small amount of oil we use in our facilities is fully contained inside the building.
Protection of our Water
Our projects produce no particulate matter from the exhaust, and we are very stringent about maintaining proper local air quality. We are also investigating the ability to blend hydrogen, and incorporate carbon capture into our facilities, to ensure that, over time we are not only compliant, but seeking best-in-class
